KULA VIEW ESTATE

Carved out of extremely rocky terrain, this residence and garden had numerous earth shaping challenges requiring multiple terraces. The landscape in particular needed to augment the scale of the home’s imposing height and stature and take into account the specific color scheme of the owner.

Low maintenance, succulents, native shrubs and trees were chosen for the drier Kula climate. They also needed to be easy to maintain given the difficulty of the terrain. Carefully planned irrigation systems were installed where needed most. High drama with certain plants create a substantial wow factor, whilst others create privacy and a sense of intimacy in the rear of the home.

The native ground covers chosen evoke cascading waterfall like effects, and a grass strip in between resembles a river bed. The waterfall effect then continues over to the neighbors garden extending the visual impact.
